Dorothy James

Dorothy Carpenter James, 81, of Greer, South Carolina, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice.
A native of Rutherford County she was a daughter of the late Paul W. Carpenter and Dora Ann Hames Carpenter and a widow of N J James. She was also preceded in death by one son, Boyce Newton James and two sisters, Lois Elmore and Pat Randall. She was a member of the Duncan First Baptist Church. She retired as a Parts Inspector for Andrews Bearing and recently retired as a news courier for the Spartanburg Herald Journal after sixteen years of service.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Eddie James and his wife, Lynn of Pauline, SC and Chuck James and his fiance Robin Williams of Greer, SC; one daughter in-law, Kathy Meyers of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one grandson, Bryant Thrift of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sisters, Louise Holland and Mary Givens.
