“A good woman is far more precious than jewels”
Dot loved Jesus. Dot loved her family. Dot loved her friends and church family. She was a faithful member of Chase Baptist Church and attended whenever able.
Mildred Doris “Dot” Allen was born on March 21, 1932 and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 27, 2022. She was a 1950 graduate of Tri-High School, and for most of her life she worked as manager and main saleswoman in the family grocery store.
Dot was a committed caregiver to her family for most of her life, caring for her grandmother, father, and mother. She was a second mother over her smallest brothers. Then she continued as a second mother over her nieces and nephews and continued into great-nieces and great-nephews.
Dot did not have any hate in her person. If people tried to hurt her, she just turned the other cheek. She prayed for her family and friends by name every day, and she always made sure to call in their birthdays to WCAB. Dot was truly one-of-a-kind and all those who knew her, loved her.
Dot was the daughter of A.L. and Beatrice Seay Allen. She was also preceded in death by sister Ruby Joyce and brothers J.P. Allen and Spencer Allen. She is survived by her brothers, Stephen Allen and David G. Allen, and was an aunt to Alicia, Joey, Tanya, Jason, Heidi, Zach, Tai, and great-aunt to many other grand-nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering to honor her life at Chase Baptist Church on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 am with Reverend Scott Butler officiating.
Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
