Doug Henson

Doug Henson, age 59, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in Spartanburg, SC.
Doug was born June 8, 1953 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Luther Phillip Henson and Jessie Rice Henson. He worked in construction most of his life and was of the Baptist Faith. He loved playing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Aundrea Tucker, Vivian Blanton, Sue Reid and one brother, Dale Henson.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Ann Blanton of Golden Valley; one step-daughter, Freda Duran of Georgia and one step-son, Bobby Campos of Spindale; three brothers, Steven Henson of Danieltown, Hoyle Henson and Randy Henson both of Rutherfordton; one sister, Mary Ann Burgess and husband, Hubert of Forest City. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and his ex-wife, Ruth Henson Ramirez of Spindale.
Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services, 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
