Dovie Greene

Dovie Ledford Greene, age 89, of 118 Elk Road, Ellenboro, NC, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Autumn Care of Forest City.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William Perry Ledford and Sara Allen Ledford. She was a homemaker and a member of Campfield Memorial Baptist Church. She was an avid reader of Christian Fiction, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She especially was known for her excellent cooking which included anything from biscuits to salmon patties.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Frank Greene; one grandson, Frankie Vickers; one son in-law, Donald Lee Blanton; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Campbell and her husband Bobby of Ellenboro, Annette Landis and her husband, Fred of Forest City and Janice Vickers and her husband, Joseph of Sandy Mush; one son, Eddie Greene and his wife, Melanie of Forest City; one sister, Buena Winn of Forest City; 10 ten grandchildren, Donald Blanton, James Blanton, Robert Callahan, Amy Curtis, John Landis, Alan Landis, Jason Vickers, Joni Vickers, Meleah Hilton and Chloe Greene; 15 great grandchildren, Hannah Blanton, Noah Blanton, Holly Blanton, Amber Blanton, Dylan Curtis, Kamryn Curtis, Waylon Curtis, Cheyenne Curtis, Caleb Landis, Jordan Landis, Emily Landis, Aidan Landis, Ethan Landis, Lillie Vickers and Gabriel Vickers.
