Edna Mae Shrewsbury, age 64, of Forest City, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at Colonial Manor Health Care in Rutherfordton.
Edna was born Saturday, September 20, 1958 in Wyoming County, West Virginia to the late Clyde Denver Shrewsbury and Francis Opal Hunter Shrewsbury. She worked as a clerk and store manager of the Southern Convenience Store and Petroleum World Service Station and also worked in plastics manufacturing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathryn Lynn Shrewsbury; granddaughter, Chrissy Moore; brothers, John Hunter and Clyde Douglas Shrewsbury; stepsons, Bryan Rudy Sizemore, Peter Byron Sizemore and stepdaughter, Angela Mitchell.
Survivors include her best friend and soulmate for several years, John “Cowboy” Nipper; two sons, David Franklin Shrewsbury of South Carolina and Roy Douglas Shrewsbury (Amber) of Gainesville, Missouri; daughter, Dorothy Sizemore Ravencliff of West Virginia; sister, Opal Van Dyke (Jeffrey) of Forest City and brother, Patrick Shrewsbury (Lisa) of Easley, SC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3rd at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gray’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
