Edward Radford, age 70, of Forest City, NC, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born November 13, 1943 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Jack Radford and Lucille Daily Radford Wells. Edward was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the US Army. He worked for Duke Power Company for thirty years before his retirement and was a faithful member of Chase Baptist Church. He served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and sang in the Church Choir. Edward was an avid motorcyclist and was a faithful witness for his Lord.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-six years, Tonda Kendrick Radford; daughter, Tonda Miller of Shelby; son, Michael Todd Radford of Henrietta; three sisters, Alice Woods of Rutherfordton, Evaline Moorehead of Ellenboro and Pat Blackwell of Seneca, SC. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Chasity Wynnberry of Shelby and Kia Miller of Forest City; two grandsons, Andy Radford of Shelby and Ty Barber of Charlotte; great-granddaughter, Alexys Wynnberry and sixteen nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Chase Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Butler officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard during the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
