Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Gossett Burgess

Elizabeth (Libby) Ann Gossett Burgess passed away on September 27, 2021 at her home in Asheville at age 62.

She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Christopher Burgess of Asheville, daughter April Burgess-Johnson and wife Willow of Asheville, and son Shane Burgess of Spindale. Libby had two grandchildren, Callie and Zoe Burgess-Johnson, who were her great joy. Her mother, Agnes Gossett, sisters Frieda Conner, Dianne Cogdell, Angie Pearson and brothers JC “Clevie” Gossett and Charles Gossett all reside in Mooresboro. She was preceded in death by her father JC Gossett and brother Michael Gossett.’

Libby loved flowers and gardening, caring for neighborhood cats and spending time with her beloved family. She was strong, protective, loving and tenacious and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

A small private graveside service for the family will be held at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Four Seasons Hospice or the Hope Chest for Women.
