Elvis G. Hoyle, age 80, of Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Willow Ridge Nursing Care.
Elvis was born February 13, 1933 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Chivous Lee Hoyle and Bessie Lois Toms Hoyle. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a self-employed appliance repairman and was known for his ability to fix anything and working hard. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lou Hamrick Hoyle.
Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Hoyle Hames and husband, Kenneth of Rutherfordton, Rhonda Michelle Hoyle Harris and husband, Frank of Shiloh and Renee Perry and husband, George of Mooresboro; one sister, Geretha Davis of Forest City. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating and military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will greet friends after the service at the cemetery.
