Ernest Jackson

Ernest Caldwell Jackson, age 78 of Rutherfordton, NC, died at home after an extended illness.
Born on November 2, 1937 in Indian Land, Oceola Community Lancaster SC to the late Harold B. Jackson and Ruby Ashley Jackson. He was a graduate of Indian Land High School, class of 1956. Ernest worked with his father in Jackson Cabinet shop in Rock Hill, then at American Schlafhorst in Charlotte NC and was the Owner of Jackson Textile Company. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Masonic Order and the Hejaz Shrine. He was also a member of Spindale United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Higgins Jackson; five children, Rafferty Lorin and Elizabeth Craig of Lancaster SC, Susie Jackson of Tulsa, OK, Keith Blanton of Rutherfordton, NC and Julius Blanton of Mills River, NC; five grandchildren, Ashleigh Jackson, Samantha (Chris) Dover, Tori (Rick) Brock and Beth Poff all of Charlotte, NC and Tyler Blanton of Gastonia, NC; eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Gladys Williams and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Robert Jackson and Billy Jackson.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation or services.
