Ernest Self, Jr.

Clark Self, Jr., age 71, of Chesnee, SC, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at his residence.

Clark was born Sunday, April 30, 1950 in Buncombe County to the late Ernest Clark Self, Sr. and Hazel Melton Lindsey. He loved working on old cars and with reclaimed wood. He also enjoyed collecting various things. Clark has written a book called, Appalachian Underground. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Toney.

Those left to cherish his memory include, Dawn Blackwell and Audrey Self, his five children, Donnie Self, Sherry Thompson (Mike), Ronnie Self (Linda), Angie Sutton, Clark Self III; sisters, Linda Hopper (Ed), Dale Dobbins, Ramona Brewington; brother, Steve Lindsey (Kathy); five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
