Eugene Moore

Eugene F. Moore, age 74, of Forest City, NC, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Hospice House.
Eugene was born November 27, 1937 in Iredell County, NC to the late John L. Moore and Vera Hodge Moore. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served on the USS Randolph as a firefighter. He worked in textiles for 38 years and was a founding member of the Danieltown Fire Department for 20 years. He was also a member of the Chesnee American Legion Post #48 and of Broad River Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and was a collector. He was a people person who enjoyed conversation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Moore.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Helen Cooper Moore; one daughter, Missy Landis and husband, John of Forest City; three sons, Ray E. Moore and wife, Cathy, Scott Moore and Tracy Moore all of Forest City; five grandchildren, Megan Moore, Caleb Landis, Allison Moore, Jordan Landis and Andrew Moore. He is also survived by his best friend, Paul Jones and a special friend, Dessie Hopper.
