Eunice H. Jenkins, age 87, a lifelong resident of Cliffside, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Summit Hills Retirement Community in Spartanburg.
Born October 6, 1927 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Hames and Florence Harris Hames. She was a graduate of Cliffside High School, class of 1944. Eunice was a homemaker and a long time member of Cliffside Baptist Church where she served as the church librarian and choir member. She was a devoted wife and mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, William B. Jenkins and brother, Everett Hames.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Jenkins and wife, Dianna of Gaffney and Barry Jenkins and wife, Mary Ann of Park City, Utah; sister-in-law, Ann Hames of Shelby; five grandchildren, James Michael Jenkins, Julie Teague, Betsy Jenkins, Lindsey Boozer and husband, Andrew and Abbey Jenkins; four great-grandchildren, Georgia Jenkins, Kaden Jenkins, Thomas Boozer and Adam Boozer.
Funeral services will be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Cliffside Baptist Church with Reverend Joey Cantrell and Mr. Mike Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Cliffside Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to KWISA, PO Box 7099, Florence, SC 29502, a Christian organization dedicated to feeding orphaned children in southern Africa.
