Evelyn Butler Davis, age 90, of McKinney Road, Ellenboro, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Willow Ridge Rehab and Nursing Center.
Born November 2, 1927 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Willie P. Butler and Reba Doty Butler. Evelyn worked in the textile industry for forty years and then established a second career as she worked for Wal-Mart for twenty years. She was a faithful member of Drury Dobbins Baptist Church. Evelyn loved her family, friends, animals and nature. She was loved and respected by all and will be remembered as a gentle and kind person who only saw the goodness in people.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Davis.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Reginald "Reggie" Davis of Ellenboro; one sister, Rebecca "Becky" Summers and husband, Bill of Rock Hill; two nephews, Clint Summers and Christopher Summers both of Rock Hill and a great-nephew, Noah Summers. She is also survived by dear friends, Kim Lewis of Ellenboro and Doris Dayberry of Casar and numerous special and close friends.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church with Reverend Chris Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
