Evelyn Hawkins

Mrs. Evelyn Frick Hawkins, age 90, of Charleston, SC formerly of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Trident Medical Center in Charleston. She was born September 30, 1916 in Newberry County. SC to the late Horace Dale Frick and Bessie Beatrice Connelley Frick. She retired from Harris-Teeter Grocery Store where she worked in the meat packing department. Mrs. Hawkins loved to cook and take care of her husband Perry Bryson Hawkins who preceded her in death in 1997 after 57 years of marriage. She was a member of Caroleen Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hawkins is survived by one son Jerry Hawkins, Sr. and his wife Shari of Charleston, SC; five sisters, Stella Cotney and Olive Gruber both of Joanne, SC, Mozelle McKay of Newberry, SC, Frances Hamrick of Charleston, SC and Dale Brown of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Debbie Gunter, Greg Hawkins, Jerry Hawkins, Jr., and Amy McKnight and twelve great grandchildren, Cody, Casey and Chase Gunter, Caleb, Haley and Kevin McKnight and Jessica, Josh, Rebecca, Riley, Bryson, and Ava Claire Hawkins.
