Evon Bridges, age 55, of Dobbinsville, died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Hospice of Rutherford County.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley Cox and Dolly Elizabeth Watts Cox. She worked as plant supervisor for R & R Plastics and most recently for Creative Gift Packaging. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and cleaning. She also loved going to the beach and was a longtime member of Alexander United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Jim Bridges; two sons, Josh Bridges and his wife Angie of Caroleen and David Bridges of Dobbinsville; one brother, Garland Cox of Forest City; five sisters, Bettye Gosey, Kathy Payne, Brenda Ledbetter, Jean Cox and Shirley Cox all of Forest City; four grandchildren, D.J. Lynn, Jeff Lynn, Kristin Bridges and Austin Bridges. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
