Fannie Mode

Fannie Elizabeth Mode, age 85, of Oakland Living Center, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2007. She was born October 28, 1922 in Rutherford County to the late Anderson Peter Rome and Anna Mashburn Rome. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Riley Mode, three brothers, Taylor Rome, Claude Rome, and Lee Rome and a sister, Minnie Hill. Fannie was retired from Fiber Industries. She was a homemaker who loved to cook for her family and others. She was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by three sons, Ray Mode and wife Coleen of Forest City, Steve Mode and wife Margaret of Forest City, and Wallace Mode and wife Helen of Bostic; one daughter, Diane Scruggs and husband Hoyle of Ellenboro; two brothers, Troy Rome and Eugene Rome and a sister, Mary Bradshaw. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.
