Frances Price Crain, age 76, of Ellenboro, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born September 22, 1940 in McDowell County, she was a daughter of the Charlie Price and Ruby Lawing Price. She was a graduate of Marion High School, class of 1958 and worked in textiles for many years. Frances served the Lord faithfully, as a pastor's wife, with her husband, Gene, for fifty-three years. She was known for her skills in the art of cooking and took pleasure in preparing meals for everyone to enjoy. Frances was currently a member of Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Lynn Crain and three sons, Wendell, Dwight and Dwain Crain.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Gene Crain; son, Charles David Crain of Ellenboro; two sisters, Virginia Proctor of Marion and Vera Wilson (Bill) of Pleasant Gardens, NC; two grandchildren, Kevin Randall Crain and Crissy Crain (Randy Porch); four great-grandchildren, Courtney, Shayla, Kiki and Morgan.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church with Mrs. Linda Wyke, Dr. Ken Hensley, Pastor Jack Crain, and Bishop Osbourne Ramkissoon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
