Frances Gillespie

Frances Miller Gillespie, age 83, of Rutherfordton passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at her daughter's residence following a brief illness. She was born in Henrietta, NC on October 1, 1923 to the late Henry Gillespie and Eula Jenkins Gillespie. She was the youngest of 12 children. She was a licensed Dietician working for the Henderson County Schools for over 25 years. She was also an active member of the Bat Cave Baptist Church for over 51 years. She was preceded in death by her husband James Gillespie.

Mrs. Gillespie is survived by her daughter Abbie Hogan and husband David of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren, Heather Davis of Rutherfordton, NC, Holly Wilson and husband Billy of Rutherfordton, Lee Hogan and wife Sarah of Jamestown, NC, and Laura Melton and husband Charlie of Sandy Mush, NC; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Wilson, Luke Wilson, Betsey Burnett, Halli Hogan, Leah Hogan, and Amanda Melton. She is also survived by one sister, Juanita Lomax of Spencer, NC.
