Frances Byers Wilkie, age 75, of Ellenboro, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born July 21, 1940 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Raleigh Byers and Etheleen Bradley Byers. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1958. Frances worked in the textile industry for over twenty-five years, having worked for the Cliffside and Caroleen Mills. Frances was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed craftwork and travelling with her husband to car shows and racing events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Monnie H. Wilkie; an infant son and one brother, Gene Byers.
Survivors include two brothers, Bruce Byers and Joe Byers both of Forest City; two sisters, Betty Byers of Forest City and Joyce McCurry and husband, Hobert of Simpsonville, SC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Teresa McCurry officiating. Interment will follow in the Cliffside Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
