Frances “Fran” McPhail, age 70, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Fran was born Tuesday, December 11, 1951 in Franklin, New Hampshire to the late Urban S. Tibbetts and Amy Proctor Tibbetts. She was a home provider for twenty-four years, serving clients of Lakes Region Community Services in Laconia, New Hampshire. The agency provides support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
She was known to be a hard worker her entire life whether it be her job, homemaking or winding wreaths in the basement with Patty. November was a special time of year when the house was filled with the fresh scent of fresh cut Maine Balsam tips. She also enjoyed her time off with Ernie at their early spring timeshare in St. Maarten.
Though the youngest of five sisters, Fran was the matriarch of the family. Well known for her culinary skills and beautiful yard, Fran’s home was the hub for many holiday meals, family gatherings, birthday and wedding celebrations. So many enjoyed their time at “Mom’s, Aunt Franny’s or Fran’s” house. Fran leaves us all with a lifetime of great memories.
Left to cherish fond memories are her husband of forty-eight years, Ernest E. McPhail; son, Dennis Manning (Jane) of Tilton, NH; daughter, Tammy Manning of Northfield, NH; stepdaughter, Mary-Jane Mossey (Peter) of Grafton, NH; stepson, Roland McPhail (Mary) of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Drew Guilmain, Cooper Guilmain, Blaine Manning, Debbra Parent, Waylon Aiken, Kimbur McPhail, Nicole Moser and a great-grandchild, Aubrey Guilmain. She is also survived by her sisters, Urline Joyal, Ruby Blackwood, Sharon Manning, Goldie Marden and by numerous nieces and nephews.
No formal services will be conducted at this time.
