Frank Hodge, age 71, of Hudlow Road, Forest City, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born January 2, 1944 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Curtis Hodge and Flossie Vickers Hodge. He worked for Stonecutter Mills for several years and for the Rutherford County Public Schools as a bus mechanic for thirty-one years before his retirement. He also worked for Lukes Petroleum for several years after his retirement. Frank was a founding member of the Hudlow Fire Department and was a volunteer fireman for over twenty years. He was a member of the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Brenda Dunkle Hodge; one daughter, Janet Hodge Kanipe; two sons, Curtis Hodge and wife, Jennifer and Chris Hodge and wife, Stephanie all of Forest City; two brothers, Bob Hodge and wife, Imagene of Forest City and Ray Hodge of Caroleen; one sister, Janette Owens and husband, Ben of Cane Creek. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at five o'clock in the evening on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church with Rev. Karl Kelly and Rev. Dennis Tomlinson officiating. Honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Fire Department Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
