Franklin Hutchins

October 25, 1937 — July 28, 2008

Franklin 'David' Hutchins, age 70, of 142 Frazier Drive, Forest City, died Monday, July 28, 2008 at Rutherford Hospital. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Loren Leonard Hutchins and Ella Mae Medford Hutchins. He worked as a loom fixer in the textile mills for 40 years before his retirement. He was an avid model train enthusiast and was known by others as 'The Train Man'. He was also a meticulous gardener, spending hours raising his plants and was a long-time member of Alexander United Methodist Church. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Norris Hutchins and one sister, Lonnie Marlowe.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marion Holland Hutchins; one daughter, Shannon Patrick and her husband, Dennis, of Forest City; one son, Frank Hutchins of Forest City; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of special nieces and nephews.
