Fred Bailey, age 78, of Ellenboro, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Fred was born Monday, May 10, 1943, in Rutherford County to the late Henry King Bailey and Una Bridges Bailey. He was a graduate of Ellenboro High School, class of 1961. Fred worked as a truck driver and as an electrician for many years. He also worked as a Railroad Engineer for CSX for fourteen years. Fred was a member and served as a deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He loved gardening and riding tractors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Emogene Hamrick, Rachel McKinney; and a brother Bobby Bailey.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Ina Faye Sisk Bailey; sons; Michael Bailey of Bostic, Tim Bailey of Mooresboro; brother, Palmer Bailey (Frances) of Ellenboro; sister, Sally Mann (Jack) of Gastonia.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bob Philbeck and Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
