Gail Stacy Thomas, age 78, of Forest City, NC, went home to be the Lord, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Oak Grove Healthcare Center.
Gail was born October 4, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late John Stacy and Ebbyann Cooper Stacy. She was a graduate of Tri-High School and was of the Baptist faith. She worked at Cone Mills and the Haynes Plant until her retirement. Gail's life passion was her family. She loved each one dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Thomas; sister, Elizabeth "Lib" Guffey and daughter-in-law, Connie Thomas.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Kim Tipton (Ted Smith) of Forest City; three sons, Ricky Thomas (Cynthia) of Caroleen, Jeffery Thomas (Cindy) of Gilkey and William "Kenny" Thomas of Forest City; two brothers, Tim Stacy of Kernersville, NC and Basil Stacy (Kathleen) of Caroleen; two life-long and loyal friends, Louise Meyers and Teresa Lee; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat and Reverend Lamar Hewitt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at 164 Spencer Street, Caroleen.
