George Albert Allen, age 63, of Rutherfordton, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Sevierville, Tennessee, on a church staff retreat surrounded by fellow pastors and close friends.
Born on Friday, January 4, 1960, in Clearwater, Florida, to the late Wilbur Albert "W.A." Allen and Beverly Wolfe Allen, George's profound joy and fulfillment was discovered in his faith and relationship with a God who cared for him like no other. As an ordained minister of the Foursquare Gospel, he devoted his life to loving and serving God and others, with many precious years spent as the Missions Pastor at Grace Chapel Foursquare Church in Forest City.
Blessed by the Lord's heart and perspective, George continually pursued knowledge in Biblical counseling, earning a Master's degree and passionately advancing further in his studies. God armed him with kindness, compassion, boundless energy, and steadfast intentionality, traits he shared in every interaction.
Within his community, George had the privilege of counseling, encouraging, and praying for countless individuals, leaving a legacy of love and support. His calling extended beyond local boundaries as he was also honored to equip, coach, and release missionaries to countries across the globe, spreading the message of and encouragement in Christ that he himself experienced.
George was also a realtor, building and owning a business alongside his beloved wife. His commitment to his wife and daughter was his most cherished treasure here on earth - his dedication to his family, unwavering, and his love for them, immeasurable. George's legacy of faith, service, and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Bouchie.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of twenty-five years, Dorothy “Dotty” Allen; his daughter, Arianna "Ari" Allen Bare and husband, Sebastian; mother-in-law, Janice Erskine; uncles, Gerald Allen (Martha) and Larry Allen (Anna); brother-in-law, David Erskine, Jr; sister-in-law, Robin Fazzari (Carmine); nieces and nephews, Tracy Sanders (Joey), Lynette Weaver, Russell Hook (Robin), Steffan Fazzari, and Lucas Fazzari.
