George Olewine, Jr.

George Olewine, Jr., age 62, of Forest City, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at his residence.

George was born Thursday, January 12, 1961 in Lackawanna, New York. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and worked as a snow plow operator for the New York Department of Transportation for many years before relocating to North Carolina. He enjoyed carpentry, cooking, hunting and was a wolf enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Olewine, Sr.

Those left to treasure his memory are his mother, Mary Olewine; life companion, Maria DeJesus; his daughters, Candi Olewine, Stephanie Olewine and Amber Snyder; sisters, Lisa and Tammy; fifteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his friends, Mark and Myra Hutchins, Steve and Cheryl Hutchins, Henry Robertson and Chris Miller; stepdaughters, Gina Acosta, Christina Acosta and Jessica Acosta.

 In honor of his wishes, no formal services will be conducted.
