Georlene Holland, age 75, of Ellenboro, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born February 19, 1942 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Hoyte Bailey and Hazel Dobbins Bailey. Georlene was a homemaker and a faithful member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and visiting new places and especially loved her family. Her life's joy was taking care of her husband, her children and her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-nine years, Max Holland; two daughters, Lisa Blanton and husband, Dwayne of Rutherfordton and Mary Jo Teseniar and husband, Don of Sandy Mush; two sons, Randy Holland and wife, Gloria of Shelby and Alan Holland and wife, Sharon of Caroleen; two brothers, Jimmy Bailey and wife, Pat of Columbus, NC and Phil Bailey of Bostic. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Steven Blanton, Miranda Beck (John), Victoria Belue (Tony), Caroline Toney (Matthew), Joshua Holland, Linda Holland, Melissa Maxwell (Eric), A.J. Holland (Mary), Megan Holland, Luke Holland and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Goodes Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Chad Hayes and Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at 574 Walker Store Road, Ellenboro.
