Gertrude Emory

Gertrude 'Cooter' Vickers Emory, age 76, of Mountain View Street, Forest City, NC passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Rutherford Hospital. She was born September 10, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Charlie Baxter Vickers and Eva Mae Champion Vickers. She was a retired textile employee and a member of the Father's Vineyard.
Gertrude was also a devoted Atlanta Braves Fan.

She is survived by her husband Howard Emory of the home; two sons, Roger Emory and wife Chris of Augusta, GA and Joey Emory and wife Annette of Shiloh, NC; three daughters, Gail Guffey and husband Howard of Forest City, NC, Pamela Russ and husband Henry of Forest City, NC and Judy O'Dell and husband Joe of Forest City, NC; one brother, Joe Vickers of Henrietta; three sisters, Alice Vickers of Henrietta, NC, Ruth Bradley of Henrietta, NC and Mary Tessneer of Bostic, NC; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
