Gladys H. England, age 85, of Forest City, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Forest City Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born September 7, 1929 in Polk County, she was a daughter of the late Collett Hodge and Martha Ann Gibbs Hodge. Gladys was a graduate of Union Mills High School and a homemaker. She was a member of Forest Lake Baptist Church and especially enjoyed spending time with family and taking trips to the Coast.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
Survivors include one son, William C. England III and wife, Annette of Forest City; daughter, Glenda Dysart and husband, Wade of Mt. Gilead, NC; two grandsons, William C. "Billy" England IV of Hendersonville, TN and Travis Ian England and wife, Ashton of Mooresboro, NC. She is also survived by one great-grandson, Jaxon Bayne England.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Wayne Toney officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
