Gladys Brendle Grose, age 89, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at her residence.

Gladys was born October 18, 1930 in Lincoln County, NC to the late Voyde Brendle and Zula Propts Brendle. She worked several years for the Sweet Tree Mill in Cherryville and later worked at Tri-City Discount Furniture in Forest City. Gladys was a member of Concord Baptist Church. One of her joys in life was attending church. Gladys loved her family dearly and enjoyed playing bingo and working on crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Hudson and a second husband, Huett Grose; son, Skip Ward; six brothers, Bryan, Jim, Joe, Steve, Pate and Stowe Brendle; two sisters, Geneva Black and Frances Castner.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Robert Brendle of Forest City; sister, Comilla Daniels of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, April Morrow, Jennifer Aldredge and John Ward; six great-grandchildren, Keltcie Hoppes, Jeremiah Morrow, Kalynn McMurry, Travis McMurry, Gavin Aldredge and Addison Aldredge.

A private memorial service will be conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Travis Laflin officiating.

Memorial donations are requested to Concord Baptist Church, PO Box 70, Bostic, NC 28018.
