Glenda Nix

Glenda Davis Nix, of Forest City, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 28, 2024 with her loving husband of fifty-three years by her side. She had a long battle with cancer.

Glenda was born in Nash County, NC on May 17, 1954 to the late Horace Davis and Daisy Adams Davis who resides in Norfolk, Virginia. She worked for Burlington Industries/JC Cowan Plant for eighteen plus years as a supervisor in inspection. She loved life! Her favorite place was working outside. She loved gardening and yardwork. She was a faithful Christian, with a strong prayer life. She always said, “pray with specifics.” She was always willing to help anyone, no matter what they needed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded by a sister, Tracy Davis.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Douglas Nix; brothers, Tim Davis (Denise) of Chesapeake, VA and Ray Davis of Norfolk, VA; brother-in-law, Harold Nix (Diane) of Forest City and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 2nd at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Roy Byers officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
