Glenn "A.J." Jackson, age 51, of Forest City, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at his residence.
Born April 29, 1963 in Mobile, Alabama, he was a son of the late George Jackson and Georgia Weatherly Jackson. A.J. was a veteran of the US Navy and served on the USS Enterprise. He worked for Mastercraft for many years and Mohawk Industries in Landrum for the last fifteen years. He was of the Church of Christ faith. A.J. loved his daughter and granddaughter dearly and his life was wrapped up in taking care of them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Johnny Thornbourgh and niece, Ginger Carnett.
Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Williams of Forest City and granddaughter, Neveah Williams; two sisters, Nell Hoyle and Rhonda Greene and brother, George A. Jackson, Jr. all of Bostic. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverends Jim Hobbs, Sam Adams and Lee Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
