Gregory Howard Hardin, age 64, of Mooresboro, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born July 17, 1950 in Rutherford County, he is a son of Reverend Howard Hardin who resides in Rutherfordton and the late Hazel Kennedy Hardin. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1968 and worked several years as an independent truck driver for Buel Trucking and many years for Sanders Construction. He was of the Methodist faith, an avid golfer and enjoyed muscle cars and trucks.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger D. Hardin.
Besides his father, survivors include his wife, Malinda Hardin; son, Kevin Hardin and wife, Crystal of Forest City; daughter, Stephanie Holland and husband, Charles of Mooresboro; two step-sons, Adam Allen of Mooresboro and Jeremy Allen and wife, Emily of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Lou Ann Hodge and husband, Wilbur of Rutherfordton and Patti Spencer and husband, Chris of Forest City. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kriston Merrill, Staley Thompson, Cody Thompson, Cayden Holland, Gage Holland, Michael Allen, Alexis Allen, Aaron Allen and four great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Crawford, Natalie Thompson, Leland Thompson and Peyton Merrill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Forest Four Square Church with Reverend Ricky Poteat officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
