Harland Gowan

Mr. Harland Edward Gowan, (Snake) age 81 of 132 ESW Drive, Forest City, NC departed this life Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at his home.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Harland was a member of Floyd's Creek Baptist Church, attended Providence United Methodist Church, was a former textile employee and retired from Rutherford County Insulation. He enjoyed gardening, outdoors and rabbit hunting with his beagles.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 53 years, Pawnease McCraw Gowan of the home; three daughters, Rachel Clayton and husband Mike of Forest City, Sandra Walker and husband Sheldon of Forest City and Dwala Hardin and husband Eddie of Ellenboro; two sons, Rickey Gowan and wife Debbie of Forest City and Ronnie Gowan and wife Donna of Rutherfordton; one brother, Dufay Gowan of Forest City; twelve grandchildren, Kristopher Clayton (Kimberly), Brandon Clayton (Allison), Natalie Walker, Nathan Walker, Nicklaus Walker (Sally), Clint Hardin, Mitchum Hardin (Abreainn), Alex Gowan, Holden Gowan, April Gowan, Hannah Gowan, and Paige Gowan; and four great grandchildren, Lance Green, Emma Clayton, Blake Walker, and Camden Walker.
Harland was preceded in death by his parents, Jones and Ethel Bowen Gowan; two brothers, Alvin and Ryan Gowan and three sisters, Inez Hammett, Ida Mae Sprouse, and Corrine King.
