Harold "Billy" Williams, age 62, of New House Road, Ellenboro, NC, lost his well fought battle with cancer on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Hospice House.
Bill was born February 8, 1950 in Buncombe County, NC. He worked for Jim Walter Homes as a mortgage banker; owner and operator of Providence Road Sundries and The Biltmore Depot in Asheville. He was also an antique dealer at the Highway 74 Flea Market and an entertainer. His family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Rutherford Regional Medical Center, Hospice of Rutherford County, Dr. Rees, Dee Wescott and the entire staff of Rutherford Internal Medicine Associates. Bill was a man who loved having a good time, loved spending time with his family and loved life. He will be truly and dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Maynor; two brothers, Larry Williams and Jimmy Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Gosnell; one daughter, Shelley Bradford; one son, John Williams and wife, Miho; three brothers, Howard Williams, Teddy Maynor and Tommy Maynor; two sisters, Pam Creasman and Patsy Bradley. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Natalie Bradford and Will Bradford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Chris Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
