Hazel L. Moore, age 92, of Forest City, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her residence.
Born May 29, 1925 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Crawford Lancaster and Flo McDaniel Lancaster. She worked at the Fieldcrest Mill for many years before retirement and was a member of Alexander Baptist Church (The Element). Hazel loved singing alto in the church choir and also was a member of several singing groups. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and was a caregiver to her husband for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Boss Moore; two brothers, Bill and Charles Lancaster and three sisters, Margaret Pettis, Mozelle Street and Lorena Scruggs.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Terry Moore and wife, Karen of Forest City; sister-in-law, Martha Lancaster of Sandy Mush; two grandchildren, Danielle Allred (Todd) of Forest City and Travis Moore (Tiffany) of Ellenboro. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Emily Allred, T.J. Allred, Jackson Moore and Jordan Moore.
The burial will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018 in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Due to inclement weather the committal service will take place in the Mausoleum with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating.
