Helen Beason Burgess, age 83, of Henrietta passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.

Helen was born Wednesday, February 26, 1941 in Rutherford County to the late John Beason and Evelyn Smith Beason. She worked as a supervisor for J.C. Cowan and Burlington Industries for thirty years before retirement. Helen was a longtime and faithful member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church. She loved her family dearly. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Max Burgess; sisters, Doris Swofford and Linda Norman and her granddaughter, Amy Warlick.

Those left to treasure her memory include her daughter, Lisa Melton (Gary) of Bostic and son, Gregg Burgess (Dixie) of Union Mills; brother, Mike Beason of Shelby; sisters, Cathy Stanley (Troy) of Forest City and Pam Coverdale (Larry) of Port Charlotte, Florida; granddaughters, Stacy Melton, Anna Rhodes (Evan), Patti Cuthbertson (Ned), Taylor Roach (Wesley) and ten great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 23rd at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Robert Carnell and Reverend Shane Kirby officiating. Pall Bearers will be Graham Warlick, Easton Warlick, Jeremy Warlick, Wesley Roach, Max Roach, Evan Rhodes, Remy Rhodes, Ned Cuthbertson, Hunter Chapman and Eli Chapman.

Memorial donations are requested to Amy and Her Warriors Foundation; 140 Woody Creek Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
