Helen Krietemeyer

Helen M. Krietemeyer, age 80, of Forest City, passed away January 16, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Helen was born Friday, May 3, 1940 in Evansville, Indiana to the late August H. Kercher and Esther Swaggart Kercher.  She was a homemaker and a member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church. Helen enjoyed crocheting and was an avid glass turtle collector. She was known as the “Turtle Lady” by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Krietemeyer and an infant daughter, Lisa Marie Krietemeyer.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Donald Krietemeyer (Sue) of Forest City and Brian Krietemeyer of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Earl Kercher of Lynnville, Indiana and Bill Kercher of Wadesville, Indiana; sister, Betty Sanders of Hemet, California. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Amanda Shehan (Isaiah), Dusty Krietemeyer, Maggie Jenkins (Justin), Andrew Cook and four great grandchildren, Timberly Shehan, Elijah Shehan, Austin Conner and Wyatt Cook.

Due to the COVID pandemic, no formal services are planned at this time.
