Henry Jenkins, Jr., age 76, of Mooresboro, NC, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Henderson Care in Forest City.
Henry was born October 4, 1942 in Rutherford County to the late Aster Henry Jenkins, Sr. and Pearl Scruggs Jenkins. He worked as an auto mechanic and in auto body repair for many years. Henry also worked in construction for Duke Power. Besides his ability to work on cars, he had many other skills and there was not much that he could not do. His joy in life came by using those skills to be a blessing to many others. He also loved each one of his family members dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Campbell.
Those left to cherish his memory include five daughters, Wanda Jenkins (Vicki) of Ellenboro, Karen Jenkins of Bessemer City, NC, Linda Randall (Jeff) of Forest City, Barbara Hutchins of Ellenboro and Sheli Jenkins of Forest City; two sons, Henry Jenkins III (Dawn) of Mooresboro and Eddie Hutchins of Ellenboro; a sister, Joyce Hammett of Mooresboro; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Goodes Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Walker and Reverend Chuck Poole officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
