Irene Roach Delpino

Irene Roach Delpino, age 85, of Henrietta, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at her residence.

Irene was born Sunday, September 24, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late John Herman Roach, Sr. and Lois Horne Roach. She was a graduate of Tri-High School and Appalachian State University. Irene held an earned Ph. D. in English Studies. She was a published author of several historical books and a retired English Professor at the Community College of Philadelphia. Irene was a member of the local chapter of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) for twenty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Herman Roach, Jr. and Steve Roach.

Survivors include three nephews, John D. Roach (Marie) of Forest City, Mike Roach (Lisa) of Greenville, SC, Matt Roach (Elizabeth) of Pickens, SC and a niece, Patricia Roach McFarland of Hendersonville.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 22nd at the Cleveland Memorial Park Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the chapel.
