James Hawley

James "Jim" Hawley, age 67, of Carolina Avenue, Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.
Jim was born November 21, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the son of the late James F. Hawley and Betty J. Toliver Hawley. He was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, class of 1969 and worked for United Southern Industries for twenty-five years. Jim was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and a life-long student of History. He also enjoyed taking care of his pet cat, Furbie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Powell.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Doris Burgess Hawley; daughter, Michelle White and husband, Ray of Bostic; two sisters, Sharon Hawley Bennett of Rutherfordton and Bonnie McMann Howen of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Rayanna Bailey and Charles White; three great-grandchildren, Anna White, Bransyn Bailey and Izzy White. He is also survived by two nephews, Todd Young Bennett and Joseph Russell Bennett; two nieces, Andrea Sue Bennett and Heather Bennett; five great-nieces, Hannah Beam, Victoria Bennett, Olivia Bennett, Jenna Bennett, Harper Bennett and a great-nephew, Blake Brower.
A gathering of family and friends will be conducted from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Home with a Eulogy being provided by Mr. Todd Bennett. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery.
Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
