James Clifton Lowery, age 81, of Caroleen, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at his residence.
Born April 26, 1936 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Forrest Lowery and Myrtle Killian Lowery. James worked as an attendant at the Colfax Convenience Center for fifteen years and as a HVAC technician for the textile mills for many years. He enjoyed collecting antique radios and records. James was known as the "Tube Man" and the "Radio Man" for his ability to repair radios. He was a member of the Caroleen United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-six years, Pauline Lowery; two sons, Clifton Lowery of Caroleen and Jeffery Lowery of Rutherfordton; two daughters, Ann Morgan and husband, David of Caroleen and Karen Bailey of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Brandy Mitchum, Gary Morgan, Kevin Bailey, Julie Webb, Heather Lowery and Rebecca Bailey; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
