James Scruggs

James W. 'Jimmy' Scruggs, Jr., age 61, of 721 Morrow Motor Road, Forest City, NC passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg, SC after a short illness. He was born April 30, 1947 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. Scruggs, Sr. He was a long-time member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He worked as an electrician for Mt. Vernon Mills. Jimmy was a sacrificial husband and father who loved and provided for his family.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sylvia Splawn Scruggs of the home; two sons, Jamie Scruggs of Forest City, NC and Wesley Scruggs of Forest City, NC; his mother, Lorena Lancaster Scruggs of Forest City, NC; two brothers, Eddie Scruggs of Forest City, NC and Stephen Scruggs of Cliffside, NC; one sister, Barbara Scruggs Cole of Forest City, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
