James "Luke" Blanton

James “Luke” Blanton, age 43, of Henrietta, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.

James was born January 30, 1977 in Rutherford County to Brenda Blanton Self who resides in Henrietta. He worked in the roofing business most of his life and was of the Holiness faith. James enjoyed fishing and especially loved spending time with his mom.

He was preceded by two sisters, Deshondla Waters and Glenda Blanton.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his step-father, Donnie Self;  two daughters, Arrabella Blanton and Nadia Pruett; a special friend, Nancy Caldwell; two brothers, Lloyd Waters of Cliffside and John Waters of Caroleen; three sisters, Nisha Waters of Shelby, Dale Blanton of Forest City, Linda Earley of Henrietta and several aunts and uncles.

James’ body will lie in state at Harrelson Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2020. No formal services will be conducted.
