Janelle Gibson, age 70, of Cloverleaf Drive, Mooresboro, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 05, 2018 surrounded by her family at the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.
Born April 6, 1947 in Clay County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Carl Gibson and Ruth Hyde Gibson. She worked in textiles as a seamstress for many years and was of the Baptist faith. Janelle enjoyed making wreaths, going "boat" fishing, shopping, quilting and being with her dog, "Booger." She was a quiet spirited woman who loved others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Wooten; two brothers, Ted and Bobby Gibson and a sister, Carlena Kimbrell.
Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Clifford Shook (Bridget) of Young Harris, Georgia, Sid Duckworth (Wendy) and Jackson Duckworth (Heather) all of Clarksville, Georgia; daughter, Teresa French (Scot) of Martin, Georgia; two sisters, Judy Gibson and Mary Allred (Ricky) all of Henrietta and a brother, Chris Blalock of Mooresboro. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Linder and Reverend Dr. David Cummins officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
