J.B. Greene

J.B. Greene, age 60, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby.  J.B. was born Sunday, February 14, 1960 in Rutherford County. He worked as a grill cook for Greene’s Café for over twenty-three years and was a member of Florence Baptist Church. J.B. loved taking trips to the beach and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Faye and Ella Mae Greene.

Those left to cherish his memory include his fiancé, Sonya Monteith; children, Lavonne Emery (Stephen) of Forest City, April Brown (Junior) of Spindale, Brittany Greene of Forest City, Brian Stevens (Tammy Ross) of Forest City, Jimmy Stevens of Spindale, April Greene of Spindale and Samantha Greene of Spindale; three sisters, Dorlis Roberts (J.P.) of Rutherfordton, Doris Ebert (Fritz) of Bostic, Maxine McKinney (Paul) of Forest City and a brother, Harland McGinnis (Sandy) of Rutherfordton. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  Guests are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing.
