J.C. Adams, age 79, of Rutherfordton, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born January 8, 1937 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late William Huntley Adams and Maude Hill Adams. J.C. worked for Stonecutter Mill for forty-two years before retirement. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, word search puzzles and was known for his ability to make train sounds with hands. He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Laura Adams and Mary Lovelace; two brothers, Roy and Coy Adams and an infant son, Dennis Charles Adams.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Marlene Frashier Adams; three daughters, Ronda Stovall and husband, Danny of Clarkesville, TN; Robin Hopper of Piedmont, SC and Rita Hudlow of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren, Amanda Butler (Shawn), Jimmy Biggerman (Sarah), Dana Friedman (Paul), Dawn Watson (Cory), Kimberley Hudlow, Allison Hopper and Jessica Hopper; ten great-grandchildren, Reagan, Payten, Riley, Adison, Hadley, Adalyn, Penelope, Max, Alex and Logan.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Moneyham and Reverend Marion Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be gathered at the family residence on Epley Road.
