J.D. Haynes, age 91, of Forest City, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Holly Springs Rest Home.
Born September 30, 1925 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Marvin Haynes and Carrie M. Elliott Haynes. J.D. was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He owned and operated JD Haynes Body Shop and worked for Bill Turner Chevrolet for many years. He also worked for Torrington Industries for several years and was a Baptist. J.D. was a muzzle loader enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, hunting and baking homemade bread.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jaydee Johnson and an infant son, Jackie D. Haynes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving daughter and caregiver, Sandra K. Tesseneer and husband, Roger of Forest City; four grandchildren, Debra Arthur (Chris), Rhonda Taylor, John Roger Tesseneer, Jr. and Douglas Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Erica Arthur and Harley Keeter.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Cool Springs Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
