Jeanette Carver Simpson

Jeanette Carver Simpson, age 81, of Sandy Mush, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Jeanette was born Monday, May 15, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Claude Alexander Carver and Leora Gertrude Reece Carver. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1957 and retired from Crellin Plastics.  Jeanette was a faithful member of Grace Chapel of Forest City and was a member of the “Prisoners of Love” gospel singing group. She was a true “Woman of God” who loved her church family. Jeanette was known for her beautiful cakes she made for weddings and other special occasions. She was also an avid Jeff Gordon (NASCAR) and Tar Heel fan.  Jeanette loved each of her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Carver; sister, Christine Carver Fisher and brothers-in-law, Jerry Simpson, Herman Fisher, David White and Jerry Padgett.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-three years, Raymond “Red” Simpson; daughter, Marylisa Simpson Stamper (Timothy) and son, Marty Raymond Simpson (Tamiko) all of Sandy Mush; four grandchildren, Shanna Hamrick Fisher (Darryll), Randi Hamrick, Justin Bristol and Ryan Simpson; step-grandchildren, T.J. Stamper, Justin Stamper (Brittany), Candace Stamper Myhand (Taylor), Hannah Stamper, Addison Tenbroeck and step-great-grandchildren, Zephyr Myhand, Joey Bright, Colton Green and Mason Smith. She is also survived by five sisters-in-law, Helen White, Judy Simpson, Darlene Padgett, Ann Padgett and Margaret Carver.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ricky Poteat and Reverend Sam Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at 393 Old Henrietta Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
