Jerry Radford, age 68, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his residence.
Jerry was born December 9, 1951 in Rutherford County to the late Addie Radford and Effie McCraw Radford. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1971 and worked in the field of manufacturing maintenance most of his life. He most recently worked for Parker-Hannifin for fifteen years before retirement. Jerry was also part owner and operator of the Skates & Stuff skating rink in Forest City. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and especially loved four-wheeling with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Sam, Junior, Ray and Ted Radford; two sisters, Mary Grant, Alma Paris and a niece, Cindy Dedmon.
Those left to cherish his memory include his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty years, Paula McSwain Radford; son, Brian Radford of Phoenix; daughter, Amanda Radford Stone (Jason) of Forest City; six grandchildren, Madison Radford, Carley Radford, Blakeleigh Hill, Gabriel Stone, Philip Stone and Jonathan Stone. He is also survived by lifetime best friends, Gary and Pam Ledbetter of Waco, Texas and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Brian Melton officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
